Get Connected

Church means more than waking up on Sunday and coming to sit on a pew for a couple of hours. We are glad that you have acknowledged this and are seeking the next step. If you are looking for a ministry to use the talent God has given you or wanting to become a member of our church this is the right place to start!

Please scroll down for descriptions of ministries offered at our church.

Sunday Mornings @9:30: We have small group bible studies during Sunday School for all age groups.  Our small group Sunday school classes offer a setting for you not only to learn about God’s Word by reading through scripture, they also provide an opportunity for you to develop closer relationships within a smaller group of believers.

 Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, faith based, 12 step recovery program centered on Jesus’ teaching of the beatitudes. As you take personal responsibility for your thoughts and actions you no longer continue living in the past but move forward toward the person God always intended you to be. We offer a safe environment where confidentiality is respected and age, race, gender or religious background does not matter. You will be accepted as you are being challenged and encouraged to grow. This is open to those with all types of problems and addictions. For those interested in learning more about being involved with Celebrate Recovery – either as a participant or a worker - please can contact Juanita Troutman at 545-8182 or Rita Miracle at 627-5220.

Sharing @ 1st
This ministry is a “helping others” ministry designed with an emphasis on emergency help – such as after a house fire, flood, etc. We work to try and help families get re-established after dealing with this type of loss by providing household goods, clothing, food, kitchen appliances, furniture and bedding. If you would like more information about this ministry or if you know of someone who is in need of assistance please contact Marlene Hatfield at 627-0583 or Faith Estridge at 545-9911 or Kathy Broyles at 622-1395 or Fred Davis – 627-0583.

Nursing Home Ministry
This ministry is open to anyone who would be interested in ministering to those in the nursing home. We currently have a Sunday School Class that meets each Sunday morning at the Barbourville Nursing Home. We also encourage those who can to visit at the nursing home at other times. The residents there just enjoy having someone come and spend a little time with them. If you are interested in helping with the Sunday School Class or in visiting at other times please contact Ruth Ann Hill @ 606-627-3520.
